Update. Finishing varnish work on 1/7th scale scratch built john hacker runabout.
Scratch built from full sized plans, scaled down to 1/7th scale. A 25 foot ( 41 inch Roughly scaled down to 1/7th) John Hacker designed racer/runabout. The model is powered by a 4 stroke ASP .91 that I modified to water cooled. I made all the running gear, brass flywheel, stainless steel prop shaft ect. Its got a brass prop , balance and sharpened, home made brass streamlined prop nut. Home made T.I.G welded watercooled exhaust . It is a high comp motor and had to get made up a custom starter motor ( made from a motor cycle starter) standard starters burnt out quickly trying to start this engine. The hull is double planked and using thin fijian mahogany vaneer with in this photo 3 coats of clear penertrating epoxy. More coats of varnish to follow. Yet to hit the water, but soon. Dan.
