Default Simple stupid fuel cell question alert!!

Hello all, it has been about 20 years for me from the last time I built a Deep Vee.
LOL yes I am building a Prather 31inch Deep V inboard surface drive. Back in the late 80's early 90's I raced a 31 inch Prather Deep V that was surface drive. One heck of a fun ride with loads of adrenalin, as I never knew when it would barrel roll!!
My question is simple and stupid at the same time. here goes are you ready?

The fuel tank Sullivan 8 oz is being placed in the correct place in front of the engine but I forgot over the years what side to put the pick up tube. Standing from the transom looking into the hull the pick up tube should be on my right? Correct?

Over the years I built many differing boats with many differing fuel cell placements, so my confusion of this has me embarrassed to say the least over such a simple issue.
Thanks in advance for a help.

Pickup should be in the left rear corner of the tank. Doug

The left side/portside? Shoot now I have to remove the tank and place it on the left side/portside. (That would be the left side in my image) I thought fuel is forced to the right/starboard in a right hand turn as centripetal force moves or locks it to the right/starboard side of tank during a high speed right hand turn.
    Thanks!!!

If your plan is to run the oval than left rear corner should be your choice. If you plan on making both left and right turns I'd use a "clunk" type pickup at the center rear.
